Hello  and welcome to the September 2003 issue of OIO. 

Well, here we are, once again smack dab in the middle of the BEST time of year for home biz success! Are you working your home biz? Have you given up? We had a Beautiful view right there on the beach. At night we left the sliding glass door open and let the ocean breeze and the relaxing waves put us to sleep! We were in the 4 Star Adam's Mark Daytona Beach Resort (we only paid $67 and $57 per night for a $139 per night room, more on that in a minute), and then later worked our way over to the Gulf side to Panama City (as close as you can get to the Caribbean here in the states) and all points in between. 

A Great trip! Hard to get back to work here in Oklahoma. Pretty here, but I miss the ocean and plan to go back every chance I get! Those of you who know me, know that we love to travel (and get steals and deals on vacations). You can see that It was not all fun by the fact that I had my laptop with me. So we do work a little while we are on the road, but that is the beauty of an Internet biz or marketing online.

CLICKBANK UPDATE

We have heard from many of our readers, affiliates, and online friends that are concerned about the changes over at ClickBank. It appears they are going to force us all to switch everything over to their new system by the end of the year. I say Good Riddens! There were a LOT of bugs in the old system (yes, we all made some good money with them, but there were some problems).

The one item that seems to concern most ClickBank marketers is that affiliates will now have to have web space somewhere, and send their traffic through some type of "Landing" page. Apparently that is a type of redirect page. So, what do you do if you don't have web space and you don't know how to build web pages? I'll tell you what, that makes our

   How to Write an E-Book Faster
   Than It Takes To Read This Article

How fast can you write an e-book?

    Though Jim Edwards and I wrote a #1 best-selling
e-book titled "How to Write and Publish Your Own
OUTRAGEOUSLY Profitable e-Book in as little as 7 days,"
you can do it even quicker than 7 days.

    How?

Here are at least three ways:

    1. Don't write it.

    That is, speak your book and then transcribe it
using a service such as www.idictate.com. Or use one of
the voice recognition software out there, such as
Dragon Naturally Speaking. Either way, if you're more
comfortable speaking rather than writing, speak your
book first.

    2. Coauthor it.

    You can make yourself almost instantly famous by
associating yourself with someone who is already
famous. Jim Edwards came to me over two years ago and
asked to coauthor a book with me. He said he would do
most of the work. I agreed. The result was the e-book I
mentioned above, which continues to be a bestseller.

    Since then, Jim is now a recognized authority in his
own right and has written numerous other e-books.

    3. Make soup.

    This is the "Chicken Soup for the Soul" approach to
creating a book. You don't write a word. You simply ask
people for contributions. 

    Joe Kumar did this with his popular e-book "30 Days to
Internet Marketing Success." Joe is a teenager in Singapore,
totally unknown until he compiled his ebook and made himself
an online celebrity. 

    Jo Han Mok and I just did this with our new book, 
"The E-Code." We simply wrote people and asked for their
contribution. It's amazingly easy to do. You can be unknown,
and famous people will give you contributions.

    Again, writing e-books doesn't have to be hard or
take a lot of time. The trick is in delivering
something people want. Do that and no one will care if
you wrote your baby in an hour, a day, or a week.

    But once it's written, you can make passive money
from it for a long, long time.

    Go for it!

ONLINE SALES CLOSE SECRETS

One of the biggest problems in any type of sale is the
close. With one-on-one salesmen, getting them to ask for the
sale is one of the hardest things to teach. In online
selling, where words are the salesman, many times you see
the same problem - the writer never asks for the order or
business! Do you make that mistake in your marketing?

There are as many ways (perhaps even more) to ask for the
sale with the written word as there are in person. But, you
Must ask for it! Here are some examples:

The Assumed Close

With direct in-person selling, this is one of the big ones.
Forget the old adage about never assuming anything, when it
comes to selling; just assume that your prospect is going to
buy. For example:

"Well Bob, all we have to do now is process the order and
get you started today!"

You can say that in person, and you can also use it in
writing. With the personalization feature in your follow-up
responder, you should address the person by name, and ask
for their business. Tell folks Exactly what you want them to
do next:

"Click Here and fill out the order form. Once you have done
that, you will be redirected to a page where you can get
(download, set up, call, or whatever the case may be) your
hands on the product and get started Now!"

The Internet really speeds up the process with Real Time
ordering, and instant downloads. Many times a live sales
person has to wait for the home office to ship your order,
but when dealing with digital products, the transaction can
take place instantly! Use that to your advantage in closing
the sale. 

"Let's get you set up right now Bob!"

The Option Close

Some net marketers will disagree with me on this one. Some
studies do seem to indicate that online you need to give
them one choice, and one choice only. Any more than one
choice will detract from sales, or so the philosophy goes.

I'm not sure that I fully buy that theory. The option close
works so Extremely well with mail order and one on one
sales, that there has to be a way to use it online
successfully. 

The simplest option close works like this "Bob, do you want
the blue or green today?" Most of the time you will only
have one choice (i.e. your ebook or digital product), but
there are other choices you can offer. Many of the net Gurus
that say to only give your visitors one option really have
more than one and don't realize it. For instance, maybe they
don't buy your book, but they sign up for your free
newsletter - that is an option! Or how about "Will that be
VISA or MasterCard?" That is an option!

Perhaps you want to give them the option of Pay Pal or some
other form of payment. That can be your option. Really the
option is a form of the assumed close. When you ask, "will
that be Pay Pal or 2checkout" you are assuming they are
ready to buy and giving them an option. 

Fear Of Loss

Nearly all pro online marketers use this fear of loss close.
"If you don't order today the price may go up and the
bonuses will be gone." You have seen this everywhere online.

Here is another example of the fear of loss close: "If you
are not serious about earning online income, then this
product is not for you". What this does is take it away from
them. They fear that if they don't act they are not going to
be a part of your wonderful team and offer. You can no doubt
think of many other Fear of Loss type closes.

It all comes down to asking for the sale, and giving your
prospect a reason for dealing with you "Now" and not later!
One thing is for sure, if you don't ask for sales, you
probably won't get any!
